Rimon:
The Minnesota Jewish Arts Council

Rimon supports the Jewish arts community through a range of cornerstone programs. These include the Jewish Arts Collective, a membership-based community for artists to connect, collaborate, and grow; Project Support Grants, which provide financial assistance for creative projects that explore Jewish themes; Keren Or, a showcase celebrating teen-created art across multiple mediums; and the Jewish Artists Directory, a free, searchable online platform that highlights Jewish artists and their work.

Our Mission

Rimon builds community through the arts by raising the visibility of artists who broadly explore Jewish themes; enhancing Jewish identity through arts and culture; and promoting a collaborative, art-centered Jewish community.

Jewish Arts Collective

The Jewish Arts Collective (JAC) is a community of Jewish artists exploring the intersection of Judaism and contemporary art. Rooted in the legacy of the Jewish Artists’ Laboratory, JAC fosters creative expression through study, dialogue, and collaboration. Launched in September 2024, this year-long membership program offers weekly meetings, monthly study sessions, quarterly arts outings, exhibitions, an annual retreat, and networking opportunities while also hosting community-wide events.

Jewish Artists Directory

Artists are essential to the vibrancy of Jewish life in Minnesota, and Rimon is dedicated to amplifying their voices and expanding their presence across all creative disciplines. The Jewish Artists Directory is a free, searchable online platform that highlights the diverse contributions of Jewish artists and fosters meaningful connections within the community.

This resource is made possible through a seed grant from the Minneapolis Jewish Federation and generous support from the Oren and Sharron Steinfeldt Foundation.

Keren Or

Keren Or (“Ray of Light”) is a creative arts program for Jewish students in grades 7–12, established in 2004 by Gerald (z”l) and Eileen Siegel (z”l) in loving memory of their daughter, Karen Siegel-Jacobs.

Since its founding, Keren Or has inspired teen expression through poetry, photography, and creative prose—and this year, for the first time, film. The program welcomes students from across Twin Cities schools and synagogues, reflecting the rich diversity of our Jewish community.

Over the past 20 years, hundreds of teens have been recognized and celebrated for their artistic achievements.

Managed by Rimon: The Minnesota Jewish Arts Council and funded by the Karen Siegel-Jacobs Fund at the Adath Jeshurun Foundation, Keren Or continues to uplift and showcase the voices and creativity of the next generation of Jewish artists.
