covid-19: health and prevention of illness

The health and well-being of our members and guests have always been of the utmost importance. As we navigate the challenges of COVID-19, we continually follow state and local guidelines to continue our commitment to cleanliness and the safety of the community. Please check out our specific protocols for the following:

Vaccinations
All staff and members who are eligible are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated.  Staff who are not fully vaccinated must submit weekly COVID-19 test results.

Staff hired after 9/14/21 must be fully vaccinated unless they qualify for a medical or religious exemption.

Masks

Masks required indoors at the JCC ages 3+.
In the JCC ECC program, masks are required indoors for students in preschool and pre-K rooms

COVID Symptoms

If you experience any one of the following symptoms, quarantine and get tested.  Do not come back to the JCC until you receive a negative test and your symptoms have subsided.

  • Fever of 100.4 or above
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • New onset and persistent cough
  • Shortness of breath

If you experience any two of the following symptoms, quarantine and get tested.  Do not come back to the JCC until you receive a negative test and your symptoms have subsided.

  • Fever or Chills
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Sore Throat
  • Nausea or Vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Anyone who is not vaccinated and lives with someone who is exhibiting symptoms should quarantine until the test results are confirmed.

 

COVID Positive

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 quarantine for a minimum of 10 days from onset of symptoms (or the test taken date if you are asymptomatic) and

  • Symptoms have improved without the use of medication
  • No fever for at least 24 hours without the use of medication

Covid Exposure

Quarantine After Defined Exposure- One-time exposure to a person that has tested positive for COVID-19

If you are vaccinated and symptom free:
Quarantine not required.
Take a covid test 5 days after the defined exposure.
Wear a mask until negative result or 10 days after exposure.

If you are not vaccinated:
Begin quarantine immediately and take a covid test 5 days after the defined exposure.
Quarantine for 7 days with negative PCR test or 10 days without a PCR test.
Wear a mask for 14 days

If any symptoms arise at any time during 10 days after exposure, quarantine and take a PCR test.

Quarantine After Defined Exposure for Early Childhood staff/participants

If you are vaccinated and symptom free:
Quarantine not required.
Take a covid test 5 days after the defined exposure.
Wear a mask until negative result or 10 days after exposure.

If you are not vaccinated:
10-day quarantine

Siblings and other household members of exposed – Quarantine not required unless symptomatic.

 

Quarantine After Ongoing Exposure- exposure to a person who lives in your household and has tested positive for COVID-19

If exposure is ongoing, quarantine until positive individual’s quarantine is complete, then follow defined exposure guidance.
