Date
Sun, May 31
Time
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Location
Sundin Music Hall at Hamline University
The poignant stories of Violins of Hope will be shared in a concert of memory, reflection, and community. Music from concentration and labor camps as well as from today’s concert and dance halls will evoke the spirits of the past and connect their stories to our own. Including music by J.S. Bach, Messiaen, Massenet, Klein, and Golijov with musicians Marc Levine, Artistic Director and violin, Pat O’Keefe, clarinet, Erika Lantz, soprano, and the Lux String Quartet. Also featuring Yiddish songs of the past and present with Yiddish singer Sarah Larsson and Di Bayke Klezmer Band. After the concert, join everyone for a reception and dancing!
Community Play In!
On Sunday, May 31, as part of the Violins of Hope Centerpiece Concert, you are invited to come play on the final song! We will join Di Bayke Klezmer Band for a community rendition of Ale Brider, a song about togetherness. “We are all brothers…we are all sisters…we are all siblings….like the kugel with the kasha….”
