Red Cross Water Safety Courses & First Aid Training
Lifeguard INSTRUCTOR Certification Training
This course prepares certified Lifeguarding Instructors (LGIs) to teach various American Red Cross programs, including Lifeguarding, Lifeguarding Blended Learning, Shallow Water Lifeguarding, and Waterpark Skills.
It also trains them to effectively instruct participants on critical safety skills such as proper surveillance techniques, victim recognition, water rescue, and emergency response.

PREREQUISITES:
Must be age 17 by last day of class
Must bring driver’s license or photo ID for proof of age and name on the first day of class
Must attend all classes
Requirements to become an LGI
Certifications: Hold current American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers.
Online coursework: Complete the online pre-course homework and sessions.
Skills assessment: Pass a prerequisite skills assessment scenario.
Written exam: Achieve a minimum grade of 80% on the final written exam.
Participation: Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.
Lifeguard Certification Training
Learn to save a life, both in and out of the water. This 3-day course covers in-water lifesaving skills as well as Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED. A swimming pretest is required on the first day. Participants will need to pass the pretest to continue with the course. Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a swimsuit, lunch/snacks, and a water bottle. Towels are provided.
This is a blended learning class and participants will be responsible for completing an online portion before beginning the course. The online portion takes approximately 7 hours.
PREREQUISITES:
Must be age 15 by last day of class
Must bring driver’s license or photo ID for proof of age and name on the first day of class
Must attend all classes
Must pass in-water pre-test to continue in course
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED
Learn how to save a life in just a few hours! This First Aid/CPR/AED class covers all of the information needed to administer basic First Aid and CPR with an AED. Adult, child and infant care will be covered. This is a Blended Learning class that includes an online portion which will take 3 – 4 hours to complete. Proof of online completion must be provided before continuing to the skills practice session. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certification good for 2 years.
PREREQUISITES:
Must be age 12+
Must bring driver’s license or photo ID
Must pass online portion before the in-person class begins (included in the cost of the class)
American Red Cross JUNIOR Lifeguarding
Our Junior Lifeguard Program is designed for 11 to 14-year-olds, offering a self-paced and flexible learning environment. It also prepares participants for advanced lifeguard training and certification at age 15.
Participant safety is our top priority. Junior participants are not permitted to perform in-water rescues; this is reserved for certified lifeguards. The program focuses on developing aquatic safety knowledge and lifesaving skills, emphasizing roles in maintaining a safe environment, such as pool area supervision and knowing when to seek professional help.

Must be age 11 by last day of class (AGES 11-14 yrs)

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Re-Certification
Are you a lifeguard with a certification that’s about to expire? This recertification class is for you! Candidates for this class must either be currently certified or within 30 days of their expiration date. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certification good for 2 years. This class is the Blended Learning option which includes an online portion. The online portion requirement must be completed prior to beginning the in-person skill session.
American Red Cross BABYSITTER Training
Designed to provide youth who plan to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe, responsible care for children and infants. Participants develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business; keep themselves and others safe; and learn childcare skills and basic first aid.
Participants will receive Babysitter Training with Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification upon completion. AGES 11-16.

American Red Cross WILDRENESS & REMOTE FIRST AID Training
Learn the essential first aid knowledge and practical skills needed to respond to medical emergencies when emergency medical services (EMS) are delayed or unavailable. This course prepares participants to provide care in wilderness and remote settings, as well as during urban disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes.
Prerequisites:
Must be 14 years of age or older by the last day of the course.
Must hold a current Adult CPR/AED certification (or equivalent).
Certification will be verified by the instructor at the beginning of the course and is required for participation.
