AARP Smart Driver Course

This initial 8 hour course meets July 12 • 9 – 5 PM
This driver safety course will refresh you on current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment.
After completing the course, you will have a greater appreciation of driving challenges and a better understanding of how to avoid potential collisions and injuring yourself or others. Minnesota state law requires insurance providers to offer a 3 year, 10% auto insurance discount to licensed drivers aged 55 and older upon completion of an approved defensive driving course. First time participants must take this initial 8-hour course, then renew their discount every 3 years by taking a 4-hour refresher course.

COST: AARP Members: $20, Non-Members: $25
State of MN requires everyone to take an initial 8 hour class, which will make them eligible for the 4 hour refresher every three years after.
