Camp Butwin has something for everybody! With a focus on experiencing the outdoors, exploring favorite interest areas, developing new skills and challenging ourselves at our own pace, your camper is sure to have a blast!
Aquatics
Free Swim
Campers enjoy daily free swim periods at our aquatic facility, which features two heated in ground pools, including a full-size L-shaped pool with water slide and aqua wall, and a smaller zero depth entry splash pool with fountain and spray features. All swimming activities are conducted under the supervision of Red Cross Certified Camp Butwin Lifeguards.
Instructional Swim
Swimming lessons occur multiple times each week for campers in Galim, Sabra and K’far villages. Swimming lessons are optionally available for campers in Kibbutz and Tzofim.
Waterfront
Featuring canoes, rowboats, kayaks, paddleboats and of course plenty of fishing, our Waterfront is the place to be. Supervised by Red Cross Certified Lifeguards and trained Waterfront Staff, all campers will have the chance to visit our waterfront.
Arts
Arts and Crafts
Utilizing a creative visual arts space for projects large and small, campers will learn and create camp favorites such as beading, lanyards, paper mâché, friendship bracelets and tie dye, as well as exploring new projects and free art. All campers have the chance to visit this specialty area.
Drama
Campers explore their performative side at drama. Campers may play improv games, explore character work and create skits to perform. All campers have the chance to visit this specialty area.
Music and Dance
Learn and sing classic folk camp songs and cheers, rhythm activities, movement activities and fun group dances, ranging from Israeli folk dance to line/square dance to Cha-Cha Slide! All campers have the chance to visit this specialty area.
Sports
Athletics
Our sports offerings include a variety of traditional and camp-style games, including soccer, softball, volleyball, tether ball, 9-square, gaga and much more! All campers have the chance to visit this specialty area.
Outdoor Adventure Challenge Course
Our Challenge Course area features high and low ropes, as well as team building initiatives on the ground. The course features a variety of elements, including 45’ climbing towers, high and low traverses and a bouldering wall. Progressive program allows campers to master skills and learn new ones, before moving on to more difficult challenges. All campers have the chance to visit this specialty area to participate in age-appropriate challenges.
Ecology and Culture
Nature
Learn about the great outdoors on our nature peninsula. Identify the flora and fauna that surrounds us, take a nature hike, inspect the world under a magnifying glass and learn basic outdoor skills, such as campfire building and shelter construction. All campers have the chance to visit this specialty area.
Jewish and Israeli Culture
Informed by Jewish culture and tradition, including Shabbat and holiday programming, Israeli staff teach language and culture. Participating in a program guided by universal Jewish values, Jewish campers strengthen their Jewish identity, while campers from all backgrounds have the opportunity to learn about cultures different from their own.

Overnights, Late Nights and Field Trips
Each Age Group Village has something special to offer, with different special events, from in camp visitors and cook outs for our younger campers, to extended off site campouts for our oldest!
All Camp Events
Camp features a variety of all camp events, from morning Flagpole to daily song and skit sessions after lunch, known as zmirot. Each Wednesday is a themed dress up day, and each Friday has a special scheduled program such as a talent show or sporting competition. These special events add that something extra to each day and week and create an amazing camp-wide community.
